Franmar Haze Remover Gel – Precision Gel Ghost & Haze Remover for Screen Printing
Franmar
D•Haze Gel is the heavy-duty option for stubborn ghost images and ink staining that the standard liquid D•Haze can’t clear on its own. The exclusive gel formula clings to the affected area and can sit for up to an hour or longer on tough stains — without running, drying out, or losing effectiveness. Used for targeted problem areas, not routine whole-screen application.
Price range: $22.50 through $357.00
Description
Franmar D•Haze® Gel Haze Remover
Standard D•Haze handles routine ghost images in 1–2 minutes. But some ghost images are older, deeper, or more stubborn — they need more time and more targeted application than a quick scrub provides. D•Haze Gel was developed for exactly these situations. The gel formula clings to the problem area instead of running off, stays active for up to an hour, and gives the chemistry time to work on the most stubborn staining without you having to babysit the screen.
Gel Formula Clings
Unlike liquid haze removers that run down the screen and off the mesh, the gel clings exactly where you apply it for the full dwell period.
Up to 1 Hour Dwell
For older or deeply embedded ghost images, leave D•Haze Gel on the screen for up to an hour. An hour or longer for extreme cases.
Targeted Application
Apply only to the problem area rather than the whole screen. More efficient chemical use and better results on specific ghost image locations.
Won’t Damage Mesh
Safe on all mesh types. Does not weaken fibers even during extended dwell applications.
Promotes Longer Screen Life
Good haze removal practices extend the usable life of screens. Routinely treating ghost images prevents them from becoming permanent.
Soy-Based
Made from American-grown soybeans. 100% biodegradable.
How to Use Franmar D-Haze Gel
Step 1 — Dry or Damp Screen
Apply to a dry or slightly damp screen after emulsion removal. The screen does not need to be fully dry.
Step 2 — Apply Gel to Problem Areas
Spray or pour D•Haze Gel onto the ghost image or stained areas. Focus on the affected zones rather than whole-screen application.
Step 3 — Scrub & Dwell
Scrub briefly to work the gel into the mesh. For tough stains, allow to sit for up to 1 hour (or longer for extreme cases). The gel stays wet and active.
Step 4 — Rinse
Rinse thoroughly with high-pressure water.
Step 5 — Degrease
Apply D•Grease after D•Haze Gel treatment, especially for high mesh counts (380+) and halftone work.
Note
Do not apply to the glued portion of the screen (frame-to-mesh bond). The gel will dissolve screen adhesives if it contacts the frame bonding area.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When should I use the gel vs. the liquid D-Haze?
Use liquid D•Haze as your routine reclaim step — fast and easy for standard ghost images. Reach for D•Haze Gel when liquid D•Haze isn’t clearing the stain, or when you need targeted long-dwell treatment on a specific problem area.
How long can the gel sit on the screen?
Up to 1 hour for standard applications. An hour or longer for extreme cases. The gel stays active and wet throughout the dwell period.
Can I use it on the glued frame area?
No. Keep D•Haze Gel away from the adhesive that bonds mesh to frames. It will dissolve screen bonding adhesives.
Does it work on ghost images from dark inks like black?
Yes. D•Haze Gel is specifically suited for stubborn staining from dark plastisol, specialty inks, and older ghost images that have been allowed to set over multiple reclaim cycles.
Do I still need to degrease after using D-Haze Gel?
Yes. Follow with D•Grease before recoating, especially for high mesh counts and halftone printing.
