Mixing & Preparation

Sensitize the Emulsion:

  1. Add Diazo Sensitizer (included) to the emulsion.
  2. Fill the sensitizer bottle halfway with distilled water, shake well, and pour into the emulsion.
  3. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and uniform.
  4. Allow the emulsion to sit for at least 2 hours before use to eliminate air bubbles.

Coating the Screen:

  1. Use a clean scoop coater to apply an even coat on both sides of a dry, degreased screen.
  2. For fine detail work, apply one coat on the print side and one or two coats on the squeegee side.
  3. For thicker stencils, apply additional coats, allowing each coat to dry between applications.

Drying:

  1. Place the coated screen in a dust-free, horizontal drying rack with the print side facing down.
  2. Dry at 86°F – 104°F (30°C – 40°C) with low humidity (<40%).
  3. Ensure complete drying before exposure to prevent undercutting and poor stencil durability.

Exposure:

  1. Use UV light (metal halide or LED exposure unit) for best results.
  2. Perform an exposure test to determine the optimal time based on your light source and coating thickness.
  3. Typical exposure times vary, so test before production.

Washout & Development:

  1. After exposure, rinse both sides of the screen with cold water using a gentle spray.
  2. Continue washing until the design is fully visible.
  3. Allow the screen to dry completely before printing.

Reclaiming:

  1. Use a stencil remover to reclaim the screen after printing.
  2. Avoid exposure to excessive water and humidity before printing to maintain stencil integrity.
