Murakami 905 Blockout Blue – Fast-Drying Screen Blockout for Professional Screen Printing
Murakami
Murakami 905 is a blue liquid blockout for screen printing — water-based formula, high-visibility blue color, and built for covering larger voids, open mesh edges, and screen repair that blockout pens can’t handle. Reclaimable with standard emulsion remover. If you run water-based or discharge inks and need a liquid blockout with a blue-formula, 905 is the right choice.

Description
Murakami 905 Blue Liquid Blockout
The 905 Blue is Murakami’s blue liquid blockout — same professional-grade performance as the 901 Red in a blue formula. High-visibility blue makes coverage easy to confirm before going to press. Water-based formula cleans up easily and holds under plastisol and water-based production runs. Use it for the jobs that are too big for a pen: open mesh areas, larger voids, edge sealing, and screen repair.
High-Visibility Blue
The blue color makes coverage easy to verify before going to press — clearly visible against most screen mesh colors.
Water-Based Formula
Water-based chemistry for easy cleanup and compatibility with WB-heavy ink environments.
Large Area Coverage
Covers open mesh edges, larger voids, torn emulsion sections, and tape-off areas that pens can’t fill effectively.
Production-Grade Hold
Holds through full production runs without lifting or bleeding under plastisol and water-based inks.
Fast Drying
Dries at room temperature. Use a heat gun on low to speed drying between repair and press-ready.
Fully Reclaimable
Removes cleanly with standard emulsion remover — no special chemistry required at reclaim.
When to Use Liquid Blockout
Open Mesh Edges
Bare mesh along screen edges needs to be blocked before printing to prevent ink bleed onto garments.
Torn Emulsion
When emulsion has lifted or torn, liquid blockout fills the gap and prevents ink bleed through.
Large Voids
Any open area larger than a pin point should be handled with liquid blockout for reliable, durable coverage.
WB Ink Environments
The blue water-based formula is well-suited for shops running heavy water-based or discharge ink schedules.
Pen vs. Liquid Blockout — Which Do I Need?
Blockout Pen: Precision tool for small pinholes and tiny voids. Fine tip, fast touch-up, minimal coverage area.
Liquid Blockout: Brush-on coverage for larger voids, torn emulsion, open mesh edges, and tape-off areas. Use when the pen isn’t big enough for the job.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the difference between Murakami 901 and 905?
Both are professional liquid blockouts from Murakami. 901 is red; 905 is blue. Both are water-based and compatible with plastisol and water-based inks. The color difference makes it easy to choose the visibility that works best for your mesh color and lighting conditions.
When should I use liquid blockout instead of a blockout pen?
Use liquid blockout for any area larger than a small pinhole — torn emulsion, open mesh edges, large voids, or full tape-off coverage. Pens are for precision; liquid is for coverage.
Is 905 compatible with water-based inks?
Yes. Murakami 905 is compatible with both plastisol and water-based ink production runs.
How do I apply Murakami 905?
Apply with a small brush or from a squeeze bottle on the squeegee (ink) side of the screen. Allow to dry fully. Use a heat gun on low to speed drying before going to press.
Does it reclaim cleanly?
Yes. Removes during standard screen reclaim with your existing emulsion remover. No special chemistry required.
