Technical Specifications

Safety & Storage Precautions

  • Do NOT point the gun at yourself or others – The spot gun builds up significant pressure and must be handled with care.
  • Store in a COOL area – Heat exposure can cause the cleaning fluid to turn into gas, potentially damaging the gun’s internal plastic components.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight or heat sources – Proper storage extends the lifespan of the spot gun and ensures optimal performance.

Directions for Using the Cured Plastisol Spot Remover Starter Kit

Note: Always wear eye protection and avoid direct skin contact when handling the spot gun and cleaning fluid.

Step 1: Prepare the Spot Gun

  • Ensure that all parts of the spot gun, including the nozzle head, are securely tightened to prevent fluid leakage.
  • Hold the spot gun at an angle no greater than 45 degrees to avoid leakage from the air hole at the top of the gun.
  • Do not tilt the container cup forward for an extended period, as this may cause leakage at the screw threads.

Step 2: Check Pressure

  • Verify that the suction tube, set screw, and nozzle head are properly tightened to prevent air from entering the unit, which can cause a loss of pressure.
  • Check for blockages in the pump unit or nozzle that could restrict fluid flow.
  • Inspect the pump assembly springs for any weakness or damage that may impact performance.

Step 3: Add Cleaning Fluid

  • Fill the fluid container about two-thirds full with Printers Choice Spot Remover Fluid (included in the kit).
  • Plug the spot gun into a 110V 60 Hz electrical outlet.

Step 4: Prime the Pump

  • Depress the trigger switch for 15-20 seconds to prime the pump and ensure proper operation.

Step 5: Test the Spray

  • Spray a small amount of fluid onto scrap fabric to remove any oil residue from the internal pump components.
  • Ensure a smooth and consistent spray pattern before using on garments.

Step 6: Adjust Pressure and Fluid Volume

  • Adjust discharge pressure by rotating the nozzle collar on the front of the gun.
  • Control the fluid output volume using the volume control knob at the rear of the gun.
  • For initial settings, turn the volume knob fully left, then back right by half to one revolution for optimal flow.
  • Once the desired pressure and volume are set, there is no need for frequent adjustments.

Step 7: Apply Spot Remover Fluid

  • Point the spot gun at the cured plastisol ink stain and spray Printers Choice Spot Remover Fluid directly onto the affected area.

Step 8: Remove the Stain

  • Allow the cleaning fluid to break down the ink for a few seconds.
  • Blot or wipe the area with a clean cloth or towel to lift the ink from the garment.

Step 9: Repeat if Necessary

  • For stubborn stains, reapply the spot remover fluid and repeat the cleaning process until the stain is fully removed.

Step 10: Troubleshooting and Maintenance

  • If experiencing fluid leakage, low pressure, or operation issues, refer to the troubleshooting guide in the product manual.
  • Ensure the gun is properly lubricated and cleaned after extended use.
  • Store the spot gun in a cool area to prevent the cleaning fluid from turning into gas, which can damage the gun’s internal components.

By following these instructions, you can effectively remove cured plastisol ink stains from garments while maintaining the performance and longevity of your spot gun. Always handle the cleaning fluid and equipment safely for optimal results.
