Description

CCI SFS-100 — Roll-to-Roll Wastewater Filter for Screen Printing Shops

Screen printing washout creates contaminated water. Emulsion residue, ink solids, degreaser surfactants, and stencil-remover byproducts all end up in the rinse stream — and if you let that water go straight into your shop’s drains, you get clogging, plumbing damage, and potential compliance issues with your municipality’s wastewater discharge rules. The CCI SFS-100 is the entry-level filtration system from Chemical Consultants, Inc., built to capture those contaminants on a continuously-advancing roll of filter media before the water enters your drain line.

Heavy-duty stainless steel construction · roll-to-roll filter media operation · easy roll-out casters for mobility · adapts to existing washout booths · designed for use with CCI Clearwater chemical reactants · compact 30″ × 24″ × 19.5″ footprint. Drop-ships directly from CCI.

Heavy-Duty Stainless Steel Construction

Per the CCI manufacturer specification, the SFS-100 chassis is built from stainless steel. That matters in a washout environment — emulsion remover oxidizers, degreasers, and haze removers degrade most metals over time. Stainless gives you a unit that survives years of daily chemical exposure without corrosion or rust.

Roll-to-Roll Operation

The SFS-100 uses a continuous filter media roll. As the active section of media loads up with contaminants, you advance to a fresh section — no breaking down the unit to swap a cartridge or clean a filter housing. The standard replacement media is an 18″ × 150 yard roll.

Adapts to Existing Booths

Per CCI: “Easily adapts to existing booths.” The SFS-100 isn’t a closed system — it’s a filtration unit that sits between your washout booth’s drain output and your shop’s plumbing. Compatible with most existing washout setups including CCI’s own washout booth line.

Easy Roll-Out Casters

Caster-mounted base lets you roll the SFS-100 out from under or beside the washout booth for media replacement, inspection, or relocation. No bolts to unfasten, no lift required.

Minimal Space Requirement

Fully assembled dimensions: 30″ × 24″ × 19.5″. Compact enough to fit under most stand-up washout booths or against a wall, making it practical for small and mid-size shops where floor space is limited.

Low Maintenance

Per CCI: the SFS-100 is a low-maintenance unit. Day-to-day care is primarily advancing the media roll as needed and replacing it when the roll is consumed. No pump seals or motors to service in the base configuration.

Why Screen-Print Shops Need Wastewater Filtration

1
Reclaim wastewater contains solids. Emulsion that’s been chemically broken down isn’t liquid — it’s a slurry of softened polymer fragments. Sent untreated into shop plumbing, this slurry settles and accumulates in drain lines.
2
It also contains chemistry. Stencil-remover oxidizers, degreaser surfactants, haze remover residues, and ink solids all end up in the rinse stream. Most municipalities regulate what can go into the sanitary sewer from industrial operations — even small shops.
3
Filtration is the first line of defense. Capturing solids before they hit the drain prevents plumbing problems, reduces the load on any downstream treatment, and demonstrates good-faith compliance effort if your municipality ever audits your operation.
4
Always verify local requirements. Wastewater discharge rules vary by city and county. The SFS-100 is a contaminant-capture device — it does not constitute a complete wastewater treatment system. Check with your local POTW (publicly-owned treatment works) for specific permitting and discharge limits.

How the SFS-100 Works

1 · Washout Runoff
Contaminated water from screen reclaim and washout drains into the SFS-100 via the existing washout booth drain output.
2 · Roll Media Capture
The water passes through the active section of the filter media roll, which captures suspended solids and contaminants.
3 · Clearwater Reactants
CCI’s Clearwater chemical reactants work in conjunction with the filter media to capture dissolved contaminants from the wastewater stream.
4 · Filtered Water Out
Filtered water exits the system to your drain. With the optional sump pump, water can be pumped to a remote drain location instead.

Optional Add-Ons

Heavy-Duty Chemical-Resistant Sump Pump

CCI offers an optional sump pump that allows filtered water to be pumped to a remote drain location. The pump is chemical-resistant — important for handling washout water containing residual surfactants and oxidizer byproducts. Useful when your washout booth and the nearest sanitary drain are not in the same room or floor level.

18″ × 150 Yard Replacement Filter Media Roll

The SFS-100 uses 18″ × 150 yard filter media rolls. Order replacement rolls when your current roll is consumed — 150 yards represents a substantial amount of filtration time depending on volume of wastewater processed. Contact us to add replacement rolls to your order.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the SFS-100 actually do?

It’s a roll-to-roll filter that sits between your washout booth’s drain output and your shop’s plumbing. Contaminated rinse water from screen reclaim passes through a continuous filter media roll; the media captures suspended solids and contaminants. The filtered water then exits to your drain (or to a remote drain via the optional sump pump).

What size is it and where does it fit?

Fully assembled dimensions are 30″ × 24″ × 19.5″ (W × D × H). It’s designed to fit under most stand-up washout booths or against a wall adjacent to one. The caster wheels allow you to roll it out for media changes or relocation. Per CCI, it “easily adapts to existing booths.”

Does the SFS-100 need electricity?

No — not in the base configuration. The SFS-100 is a manual roll-to-roll unit and does not require electrical hookup. If you add the optional sump pump for remote-drain pumping, you’ll need power for the pump itself. Compare this to the larger CCI-150 SFS (115V / 15A) and CCI-5CFS (220V / 20A / single phase), which are semi-auto and fully-auto respectively.

What is “CCI Clearwater” and do I need it?

Clearwater is CCI’s line of chemical reactants designed to work with their filtration systems. Per CCI, these reactants “filter contaminants from the wastewater.” Talk to us about the right Clearwater chemistry for your shop’s specific wastewater profile when you order the SFS-100.

How often do I need to replace the filter media?

Replacement frequency depends entirely on your wastewater volume and how much contamination it carries. Each replacement roll is 18″ × 150 yards — that’s a substantial amount of media. You advance the roll to expose fresh media as the active section loads up. When the entire 150-yard roll is consumed, you swap in a new roll.

Will this make my shop “compliant” with wastewater regulations?

The SFS-100 is a contaminant-capture filtration unit — it’s not a complete wastewater treatment system, and it does not certify compliance with any specific regulation. Wastewater discharge rules vary by city, county, and POTW (publicly-owned treatment works). Always check with your local POTW for permitting requirements, discharge limits, and whether additional treatment is required for your specific shop volume and chemistry mix. The SFS-100 demonstrates a good-faith effort to capture contaminants before discharge, but the responsibility for actual compliance is yours.

When should I upgrade to the CCI-150 SFS or CCI-5CFS instead?

If you’re reclaiming a high volume of screens per shift, the manual roll-advance of the SFS-100 may become a bottleneck. The CCI-150 SFS is a semi-automatic batch unit (150 gallons per batch, 48″ × 48″ × 69″). The CCI-5CFS is fully automatic with 300 gph continuous flow (71″ × 48″ × 62″, 220V). The SFS-100 fits small and mid-size shops; the larger units are sized for production operations.

What’s the optional sump pump for?

If your washout booth isn’t directly adjacent to a sanitary drain — for example, if your booth is on a floor without floor drains, or your drain is across the shop — the optional heavy-duty chemical-resistant sump pump lets you pump filtered water from the SFS-100 to a remote drain location. It’s chemical-resistant because residual surfactants and oxidizer byproducts can degrade standard pumps over time.

How long does shipping take?

The SFS-100 drop-ships directly from CCI in Corona, CA. That means it doesn’t pass through River City Supply’s San Antonio warehouse first — it ships straight from the manufacturer to you. Allow additional processing and shipping time compared to in-stock items. Contact us for current lead-time estimates before ordering.

Why is there no price listed?

CCI equipment pricing is provided by quote. Final cost depends on options selected (sump pump, additional media rolls, Clearwater chemistry), your shipping destination, and current CCI pricing. Click the “Request a Quote” button on this page or call (512) 454-0505 for current pricing.

Is financing available?

Yes — equipment financing is available through our financing partner, particularly if you’re rolling the SFS-100 into a larger washout-bay upgrade alongside a CCI booth, dip tank, or screen washer. Section 179 tax advantages may apply for qualifying purchases. View financing details →
