Activewear broke the old ink rules. Polyester, nylon and spandex stretch, shed water, and repel the inks that work on cotton — so prints crack, peel and bleed. Matsui Yama Pre-Mix Silicone Colors are engineered for exactly this: a factory-mixed silicone ink that flexes and rebounds with the garment, bonds tightly to slick synthetics, and stays soft and vibrant wash after wash. It’s the ink behind pro sports numbers, compression wear, leggings, swimwear and premium athleisure — ready-mixed in 19 colors for consistent, repeatable production.

How to Print Yama Silicone

1 · Catalyze

Mix 90% ink with 10% Matsui silicone catalyst. Only mix what you’ll use — pot life is 4–6 hours.

2 · Print

80–160 mesh, 70–80 durometer (or triple-duro) squeegee, 1–2 smooth strokes. Use a solvent-resistant, silicone-compatible emulsion.

3 · Cure

Flash ~220°F for 5–8 sec between colors; final cure 300–320°F for 1–2 min (internal temp above 250°F).

Matsui Yama Silicone Colors — Frequently Asked Questions

Why use silicone instead of plastisol or water-based ink?
Silicone flexes and rebounds with the fabric, so it won’t crack or split on high-stretch garments, and it bonds to slick synthetics — polyester, nylon, spandex — that plastisol and water-based inks struggle to hold. It’s also waterproof and extremely washfast. For activewear and technical fabrics, nothing else compares; for soft prints on cotton tees, water-based and plastisol are still good options.
Are these ready to print?
The colors are ready-mixed (no pigment mixing), but they are not pre-catalyzed. Add 10% Matsui silicone catalyst (90/10) before printing, and use it within the 4–6 hour pot life.
What garments and fabrics are they for?
Polyester, nylon and spandex blends — sports uniforms and numbers, leggings and compression wear, yoga wear and swimwear, nylon jackets and bags, and premium athleisure and streetwear.
How many colors are there?
19 factory-mixed colors — 11 standard (Black, Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Red, Scarlet, Blue, Ultra Blue, Cyan Green, Violet, Marine Blue, Orange) and 8 fluorescent (Yellow, Orange, Red, Pink, Magenta, Violet, Green, Blue).
What mesh, squeegee and cure should I use?
Print through 80–160 mesh with a 70–80 durometer (or triple-duro) squeegee, 1–2 smooth strokes. Flash ~220°F for 5–8 seconds between colors, and final cure at 300–320°F for 1–2 minutes (internal temperature above 250°F).
Do I need a special emulsion or cleaner?
Yes — use a solvent-resistant, silicone-compatible emulsion and silicone-safe cleaners only. Don’t mix silicone with plastisol or water-based inks. On sublimated or dyed fabrics, print a blocker base before your colors.
What sizes are available?
