Description

CCI T-Charge Mixing White Water-Based Discharge Ink

CCI T-Charge Mixing White is an opaque, bright white base that lightens colors and builds pastels and tints, and lays down bright white or an underbase on dark cotton when activated. Print it as a soft-hand water-based ink, or add CCI D-Powder to dye-discharge dark 100% cotton — the same color, two techniques. Mix any Pantone shade on CCI’s Color Matching System. Available in quart, gallon, and 5-gallon.

Ready-for-use Mixing White
Pre-mixed and balanced — no base-and-pigment guesswork. Print straight from the container.
Discharge or water-based
Add 3–5% D-Powder to discharge darks, or print as-is on lights for a soft water-based hand.
Pantone-mixable
A CCI Color Matching System base — build precise Pantone shades with the R.F.U. formula guide.
Soft, zero-buildup
Cures soft with almost no hand, even on big solid coverage.

About Mixing White

CCI T-Charge Mixing White is an opaque, bright white base that lightens colors and builds pastels and tints, and lays down bright white or an underbase on dark cotton when activated. It’s ideal for tints, pastels, highlights and white prints, and works as both a standalone color and a mixing component in the CCI Color Matching System.

Build your formula on our site

Pick your ink system (including T-Charge RFU), choose a Pantone color, set your batch size, and the CCI Color Matching System builds the exact mixing formula — right here on our site. Works best on desktop.

Preparation & printing
Prep screens with a water-resist emulsion (post-harden the stencil for long runs). To discharge, stir in 3–5% CCI D-Powder by weight (sold separately) and mix well — raise or lower the percentage to dial in the result. Print Mixing White ready-to-use on light cotton, or activated on dischargeable 100% cotton. Heavy squeegee pressure is typical; flash between colors to limit build-up and mist the screen with water on long runs. Thin up to 10% with water and add up to 5% EnviroLine® Retarder for open time. Activated ink: use within 8 hours (pot life up to 24). Mix Pantone shades on the CCI Color Matching System.
Curing & cleanup
Cure a minimum of 90 seconds at 320°F — ideally 2–3 minutes at 340–350°F — with high-volume forced air. Don’t let the print dry before curing: the more moisture, the better the discharge. Proper cure drives both the discharge and the wash-fastness; if any activator odor remains, re-cure. Clean up with water; use CCI EnviroSolv® on press and CCI WB-1 for dried ink and tough haze.

Why printers reach for T-Charge

What “discharge” means
Discharge inks chemically remove the garment’s dye during cure and replace it with pigment — so the design lives in the shirt, not on top. Almost no hand, even on big solids over dark cotton.
Why R.F.U. matters
Ready-for-use means the color comes pre-mixed and balanced — no base-and-pigment guesswork. Add D-Powder for discharge, skip it for a soft water-based print.
Where it shines
Soft-hand retail tees, big solid prints on dark cotton, vintage/wash-worn looks, and any job where a heavy plastisol hand would feel cheap. Best on reactive-dyed 100% cotton.

Sizes

SizeBest for
QuartSampling, small runs & spot colors
GallonRegular production
5 GallonHigh-volume production & best value
D-Powder sold separately. Stir in 3–5% by weight to activate discharge on dark cotton.
Use activated ink within 8 hours (pot life up to 24 hrs). Activate only what you’ll run.
Always pre-test. Not all dyes discharge; poly/blends won’t, and not every pigment discharges.
Wash before packaging or label to wash before wear — per CCI, some residue can remain after curing.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does this color include D-Powder?
No — single T-Charge colors like Mixing White ship without activator. Stir in CCI D-Powder separately (3–5% by weight) to discharge dark cotton. Without it, Mixing White prints as a soft-hand water-based ink.
Can I use it without discharging?
Yes. Printed as-is, Mixing White is a ready-for-use water-based ink for light cotton. Add D-Powder only when you want the discharge effect on darks.
What emulsion should I use?
Use a water-resist emulsion so the stencil holds up to the water-based ink on press, and post-harden it for long runs. Mesh 110–230 works well — higher mesh gives finer detail and a softer finish.
How do I cure it?
Cure a minimum of 90 seconds at 320°F, ideally 2–3 minutes at 340–350°F, with high-volume forced air. Don’t let the print dry before curing — more moisture means better discharge — and proper cure is what sets both the discharge and the wash-fastness.
How long is activated ink usable?
Pot life runs up to 24 hours, but for the most consistent discharge use activated ink within 8 hours. Activate only what you’ll run.
Which Pantone colors can I mix with it?
Mixing White is a CCI Color Matching System base, so you can build precise Pantone shades using the T-Charge R.F.U. formula guide on our CMS.
Which fabrics discharge well?
Reactive-dyed 100% cotton discharges best. Dyes vary by mill and color, polyester/blends won’t discharge, and not every pigment discharges — always pre-test your actual blanks.
Anything I should tell my customer?
Per CCI, some chemical residue can remain after curing, so wash discharge-printed garments before packaging, or label them to be washed before wear.
What sizes does it come in?
Mixing White ships in quart, gallon, and 5-gallon sizes, and drop-ships direct from CCI in Corona, CA.
