Matsui Infinity Series Starter Kit

The Infinity Starter Kit puts the complete system on your shelf in one order. Every color is ready to print as a spot color straight from the bucket, and every color can be blended with every other using your Pantone Formula Guide. The simplest water-based Pantone mixing system available — open a bucket, follow the book, print. The Infinity Series is the simplest professional water-based color matching system available — 17 ready-to-use inks, one Pantone book, one gram scale. That’s the entire workflow. No software subscriptions, no base inventory, no pigment calculations. Every color in the kit can be printed as a spot color straight from the bucket or blended with any other color in the kit using the Pantone Formula Guide formulas printed right in the book.

Why Buy the Kit vs. Individual Inks?

✅ Buy the Kit When:
  • Setting up a new water-based program
  • You don’t know yet which colors you’ll use most
  • You want Pantone mixing capability across the full spectrum immediately
  • You want one order, one shipment, complete system
  • You want to evaluate the full Infinity line before committing to individual gallon orders
🔁 Buy Individual Inks When:
  • You already have most colors and need specific restocks
  • You use 2–3 colors at very high volume and need gallon or 5-gallon sizes
  • You only print a narrow color range and don’t need the full spectrum

📋 What Else You Need to Start Printing

  • Gram scale — for accurate Pantone formula ratios (kitchen scale works fine)
  • Pantone Formula Guide — Coated & Uncoated edition (sold separately — or buy the Kit + Pantone Book bundle)
  • Water-resistant emulsion — screens coated with WR emulsion hold up on long water-based runs
  • Standard water-based supplies — squeegees, screens, conveyor dryer

📖 How to Match a Pantone® Color — Infinity Series Method

  1. Customer selects a Pantone color from the Pantone Formula Guide.
  2. Open the Guide to that color. The Infinity Series formula is printed right there — color ratios by weight.
  3. Weigh Infinity colors on a gram scale per the formula. Mix thoroughly in a clean container.
  4. Print a test swatch on your actual garment. Fully cure.
  5. Compare cured swatch to the Pantone page. Adjust if needed. Run production.

⚠️ Infinity Series is Water-Based Only — No Discharge

Infinity Series inks cannot discharge garment dye. For dark cotton garments, print over a white underbase. If you need discharge capability from one ink system, use the Matsui Alpha Series — same Pantone book workflow, same ease of use, with discharge on dark 100% cotton.

🛡️ Dark Garment Printing — Infinity Series

Infinity Series is water-based only — it cannot discharge on dark cotton. For dark garments, print a white underbase first (with blocker underneath), then print the Infinity color on top.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is included in the Infinity Starter Kit?
All 17 Infinity Series colors: Yellow 012, Orange 021, Warm Red, Red 032, Rubine Red, Rhodamine Red, Purple, Medium Purple, Violet, Dark Blue, Reflex Blue, Blue 072, Process Blue, Green, Black C, Spot Black, and Trans White. Every color is a complete ready-for-use ink — no base, no additional pigments, no software needed.
Do I need a separate base to use these inks?
No. Infinity inks are RFU (ready for use) — complete inks that print directly from the container. This is different from a pigment concentrate system. Open the bucket, flood the screen, print.
How does Pantone color matching work with this kit?
Open your Pantone Formula Guide (Coated & Uncoated edition) to any Pantone color. The book prints the exact Infinity Series formula — specific percentages of each Infinity color to combine. Weigh each color on a gram scale at those percentages, mix thoroughly, and print. No software, no computer, no subscriptions.
What do I need besides the kit to start printing?
A Pantone Formula Guide (Coated & Uncoated edition) — sold separately, or buy the Starter Kit with Pantone Book bundle which includes both. You also need: a gram scale for weighing formula ratios, water-resistant emulsion for coating screens, and standard water-based supplies (squeegees, screens, conveyor dryer).
Can Infinity inks print on dark garments?
Infinity inks are water-based only — they cannot discharge garment dye. On dark garments, print a white underbase first (using Under Base Blocker Gray for dark cotton, or Black LG for polyester/blends under the white layer). If you need to print direct on dark cotton without an underbase, the Matsui Alpha Series offers the same Pantone book workflow with discharge capability.
What is the difference between the Quart Kit and the Gallon Kit?
Both contain the same 17 colors. The Quart Kit has quart containers of each — best for shops evaluating the system, low-volume shops, or adding the full system with smaller quantities. The Gallon Kit has gallon containers — better value per ounce for production shops that will be printing regularly.
Can I blend colors in this kit to match any Pantone?
Yes — that’s the primary purpose of the Infinity Series. Every Pantone color has a formula in the Pantone Formula Guide that uses specific combinations of the 17 Infinity colors. The system covers virtually the entire Pantone spectrum for light-garment printing.
Does the Infinity Series work for halftone and process printing?
Yes — Infinity inks print through mesh up to 305/inch, making them suitable for halftone and process color work on light garments. The semi-opaque, matte finish is well-suited for fashion-quality process printing on white and light substrates.
How does Infinity compare to Matsui Alpha and Neo?
Infinity is the simplest RFU system — print straight from the bucket, mix with Pantone book, no software. Alpha is also book-based but adds discharge capability on dark cotton (same workflow + discharge). Neo is a concentrated pigment system requiring mixing into a Matsui base, with more base flexibility. If you want simplicity on light garments, Infinity is the right choice. If you need dark garment capability, consider Alpha.
