Description

The Complete Matsui Neo System — All 13 Pigments, Every Base, The Full Pantone Spectrum

13 concentrated pigments. Every Matsui base. Thousands of custom Pantone® formulas — calculated in seconds by free software. The Neo system is how high-volume contract printers and premium brand suppliers build their water-based ink programs. One pigment set covers every substrate: dark cotton with discharge, stretch fabrics with PU stretch base, nylon and polyester with Soft-Tex, and light garments with standard acrylic base. The same pigments work in specialty effect bases for puff, metallic, and dimensional printing. This is not a beginner kit — it is the professional water-based color mixing system that lets you say yes to any job.

Why Screen Printers Choose the Matsui Neo System

The Neo system is not the easiest ink system to learn — it is the most powerful one. Shops that master it don’t switch away.

🎛️
Complete Control of Your Ink System
You choose the base — and the base determines everything: adhesion, hand feel, fabric compatibility, finish, and performance. One pigment set. Every substrate. Every finish.
🔄
Maximum Versatility Across Substrates
The same Neo Yellow can be mixed into a discharge base for dark cotton, a stretch base for yoga wear, a PU base for nylon, and a puff base for specialty effects — all as the same Pantone yellow.
💰
Most Economical Per-Print Cost
Neo pigments at 10% mix ratio: 2 lbs of pigment yields 20 lbs of printable ink. Dramatically lower cost per printed garment than pre-mixed RFU inks at production volume.
🎯
Exact Pantone Matching — No Guessing
Free Matsui CMS software calculates exact pigment blend ratios for any Pantone code by weight. Repeatable, verifiable, documentable for brand standards compliance.
♻️
Minimal Waste and Inventory
Stock 13 pigments + your bases instead of 50+ pre-mixed colors going stale. Mix only what you need for each job. No expired inventory.
📜
Strictest Brand Standards
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified. PVC-free, phthalate-free, azo-free, heavy metal-free, formaldehyde-free. Passes RSL requirements for Nike, Disney, Walmart, and other major brands.

“The shop that uses Neo is the shop that never says we can’t match that color or we don’t print on that fabric.”

13 pigments + the right bases = the full Pantone spectrum on cotton, poly, stretch, nylon, discharge, standard, and specialty effects.

🧪
Sample Kit
All 13 Neo pigments in sample-size containers.
Perfect for shops evaluating the system or mixing test colors before committing to larger quantities. Try every color before you stock up.
⚖️
2 lb Containers
The standard production size.
How most printers order Neo pigment. Easy to handle, easy to pour, easy to measure on a gram scale. 2 lbs at 10% mix ratio yields ~20 lbs of printable ink. Great for high-volume shops running multiple colors.
🪣
9 lb Containers
High-volume single-color runs.
For shops that burn through one or two specific colors constantly. 9 lbs at 10% yields ~90 lbs of printable ink. Cost-effective for dedicated color programs.
🛢️
Gallon Containers
Bulk ordering for large operations.
High-volume shops and contract printers running large production programs. Reduces per-ounce cost and minimizes reorder frequency on high-use colors.
🏭
Dispenser Systems
Automated dispensing for maximum precision.
Dispenser-compatible pigment containers for shops running Matsui’s automatic dispenser system. Integrates with CMS software for fully automated color matching — the highest-throughput Neo workflow available.

💡 How to pick your size: Not sure where to start? The Sample Kit is the lowest-risk way to evaluate the entire system. Once you know which colors you use most, move to 2 lb containers for your primary colors — that’s how most production shops stock their Neo inventory. Scale up to gallons or dispenser containers as volume justifies.

Compatible Bases — Full Reference Table

The base you choose determines adhesion, hand feel, substrate compatibility, and finish. All Neo pigments are compatible with every Matsui base. Choose by substrate and application:

How to Mix Matsui Neo Pigments — Step by Step

1
Choose Your Base
Select the Matsui base that matches your substrate and finish goal. Use 301C Clear for light cotton, Brite Discharge Base for dark cotton soft-hand, Stretch Clear for activewear, Soft-Tex 350 for nylon. See the full base guide above.
2
Weigh Your Pigment Formula
Use the free Matsui CMS Color Matching Software to get exact Pantone® color formulas by weight. Enter your Pantone code — CMS calculates which pigments to combine and in what percentages. Weigh on a gram scale for consistent, repeatable results.
3
Mix Pigment Into Base
Add your weighed pigments to the base. Standard ratio: 10–15% pigment by weight (Pearl Binder: 2% max). Mix thoroughly with a stir stick or low-speed mixer until completely uniform — no unmixed streaks. The base becomes your printable ink.
4
Add Additives (Optional)
For discharge printing: add Discharge Activator at 3–6% by weight and mix. For better wash fastness: add Fixer WF-N at 1–3%. For longer open time: add Retarder MG at 1–3%. For stretch fabrics: ensure you are using Stretch Clear 301 base.
5
Print and Cure
Print through water-resistant emulsion (Chromaline CPTex or equivalent). Cure at 320°F (160°C) for 2.5–3 minutes in a conveyor dryer. Discharge prints: ensure full cure — partial cure leaves formaldehyde in the fabric. Do a wash test after curing before sending to customer.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does this kit include a mixing base?

⚠️ NO. This kit contains the 13 Neo Pigment concentrates only. Mixing base is sold separately. You must purchase a Matsui base to make printable ink. See the base chart above to choose the right base for your application.

Which base should I buy first?

For light garments: 301C Clear or EasyPrint Clear. For dark cotton: Brite Discharge Base + Discharge Activator. For both lights and darks with one base: 301DM Base.

What sizes are available?

.25lb sample kit (small test amounts of all 13 pigments), 2lb quart (full quart of each), and 9lb gallon (full gallon of each). Start with the sample kit to test, then move to quart or gallon for production.

How much pigment do I mix into the base?

Standard ratio: 10% pigment to 90% base by weight. Some bases allow up to 15%. Special effects bases have lower maximums — Pearl Binder 301 maxes at 2%, Shimmer bases max at 5%. Use a gram scale and the Matsui CMS for exact formulas.

How do I match a specific Pantone® color?

Use the free Matsui CMS Color Matching Software. Enter any Pantone® code and CMS calculates which of the 13 pigments to use and at what ratios by weight or volume. Use a gram scale for accuracy.

Can I use these pigments with discharge bases?

Yes — Neo Pigments are fully compatible with all Matsui discharge bases including Brite Discharge Base, HM Discharge Base, and 301DM Base. Discharge activator required for dark garment applications. 100% cotton only for discharge mode.

Do I need a blocker on dark garments?

If printing on dark garments with a water-based (non-discharge) base, yes — use Gray Blocker for dark cotton, Black LG Blocker for polyester/blends, or Kombat Blocker for sublimation-printed polyester. If using a discharge base on dark cotton, NO blocker is needed.

Can I use these with Dyestone bases?

⚠️ No. Dyestone bases require Dyestone X pigments only. Neo Pigments are compatible with all other Matsui bases.

Are these safe for children’s garments?

Yes. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, CPSIA and HR4040 compliant. Meets all RSLs for major brands.

What additives should I use?

Use Retarder MG (1-5%) for screen open time, Fixer WF-N (1-5%) for wash fastness, Softener MG (1-4%) for fabric penetration, or Quick Additive (6-9%) for all three in one. Additive recommendations vary by base — see individual base product pages for specifics.
