Neo Green MB — One Pigment, Every Base, Thousands of Colors

Neo Green MB is not an ink. It is the raw color. Neo Green MB is the dedicated vivid mid-range green in the Matsui Neo system — used as a primary green for Pantone® greens from 347 C to 362 C, and as a blending pigment for yellow-green and teal ranges. It accelerates green color matching beyond what blue-yellow blending achieves alone. Compatible with all Matsui bases for water-based, discharge, and specialty printing. Must be mixed with a base before printing. The base provides adhesion, hand feel, finish, and performance. The pigment provides color. Different base — different result.

Why Matsui Neo Pigments

🎨
13 Pure Single Pigments
Each Neo Pigment is a single pure pigment — not a pre-mixed color. This is why you can achieve any Pantone® shade with precision.
🔬
Free CMS Color Matching
Download the Matsui CMS Color Matching Software and enter any Pantone® code. The software calculates exact Neo Pigment blend ratios by weight.
🧵
Universal Base Compatibility
Neo Green MB works with every Matsui base — acrylic, discharge, stretch, PU 350, Acrylicon, and all special effects bases.
⚗️
Softest Hand Feel
Water-based Neo inks cure softer than plastisol. On discharge applications, the pigment embeds directly into the cotton fiber for an undetectable hand feel.
OEKO-TEX® Certified
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified. CPSIA and HR4040 compliant. Meets all RSLs for major brands. PVC-free, phthalate-free, formaldehyde-free.
⚠️
Pigment Only — Base Required
This pigment will NOT adhere to fabric by itself. It must be mixed into a Matsui base before printing. Without a base it will wash off.

Why Screen Printers Choose the Matsui Neo System

The Neo system is not the easiest ink system to learn — it is the most powerful one. Shops that master it don’t switch away. Here’s why.

🎛️
Complete Control of Your Ink System
You decide the base — and the base determines everything: adhesion, hand feel, fabric compatibility, finish, and performance. Need discharge softness on dark cotton? Brite Discharge Base. Need stretch on activewear? Stretch Base. Need nylon adhesion? PU 350. One pigment system, every substrate. Pre-mixed RFU inks lock you into one formulation. Neo unlocks all of them.
🔄
Maximum Versatility Across Substrates
The same Neo Yellow pigment can be mixed into a discharge base for a dark cotton tee, a stretch base for a yoga top, a PU base for a nylon jacket, and a puff base for a dimensional specialty print — all as exactly the same Pantone yellow. No RFU ink system can do that.
💰
Most Economical Per-Print Cost
Neo pigments are highly concentrated — a 2-pound jar mixed at 10% yields 20 pounds of printable ink. Compared to pre-mixed RFU inks, the cost per printed garment is dramatically lower at volume. The upfront investment in pigments and bases pays back quickly for any shop printing more than a few hundred shirts per week.
🎯
Exact Pantone Matching — No Guessing
The free Matsui CMS Color Matching Software calculates exact pigment blend ratios for any Pantone code by weight. No visual approximation, no trial-and-error mixing. Enter the code, weigh the pigments, mix, print. Repeatable, verifiable, documentable for brand standards.
♻️
Minimal Waste and Inventory
Instead of stocking 50+ pre-mixed RFU colors (most of which sit unused), Neo shops stock 13 pigments and the bases they use. Mix only what you need for each job. No expired pre-mixed inventory, no color drift in stored pre-mixed ink.
📜
Meets the Strictest Brand Standards
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified. CPSIA and HR4040 compliant. PVC-free, phthalate-free, heavy metal-free, azo-free, formaldehyde-free. Passes the RSL requirements for Nike, Disney, Walmart, Target, and other major brand compliance programs. Pre-mixed inks vary — Neo doesn’t.

The shop that uses Neo is the shop that never says “we can’t match that color” or “we don’t print on that fabric.”

13 pigments + the right bases = the full Pantone spectrum on cotton, poly, stretch, nylon, discharge, standard, and specialty effects. That’s why high-volume contract printers and premium brand suppliers standardize on Matsui Neo.

Base Selection Guide for Green Printing

The base you choose determines the ink’s finish, substrate compatibility, and performance. Neo Green MB is compatible with all of the following:

All Compatible Matsui Bases — Full Reference Table

Every Matsui base works with Neo pigments. Choose based on your substrate, hand feel goal, and fabric type:

Matsui BaseSubstrateEffect / FinishKey NotesBest For
301C Clear Acrylic BaseCotton, cotton-poly blendsSoft matte finish — semi-transparent on light garmentsStandard starting point for light garment water-based printing. Most versatile base in the system.Spot color on light shirts, standard WB production
Brite Discharge Base100% cotton with reactive dyes ONLYUltra-soft zero hand feel — pigment embeds INTO cotton fiberAdd Discharge Activator 3–6%. 12-hr pot life. No blocker needed on dark cotton.Dark cotton — premium soft-hand discharge
HM Discharge Base100% cotton with reactive dyes ONLYDischarge hand feel — high-moisture formula for warm/humid environmentsSame discharge chemistry as Brite, engineered for high-humidity shops. Discharge Activator 3–6% required.Dark cotton in warm/humid climates
301DM BaseLight AND dark cotton with reactive dyesOne base for light and dark — WB on light, discharge on dark cottonDischarge Activator required only for dark garment printing. Versatile single-base workflow.Mixed-run shops printing both light and dark cotton
Stretch Clear 301Cotton, cotton-poly, stretch fabrics, activewearFlexible matte finish — does not crack or peel on stretchRequired for garments with 5%+ spandex/elastane. Standard base cracks on high-stretch fabrics.Athletic wear, yoga, compression, performance tees
Soft-Tex Base 350 (PU)Nylon, polyester, blendsPolyurethane binder — excellent adhesion on syntheticsRequired for nylon and aggressive polyester. Use Fixer WF-N at 5% for best wash fastness.Nylon jackets, polyester athletic, synthetic blends
Acrylicon BaseCotton, poly (dry-clean only / non-wash)Specialty solvent-like performance — for dry-clean or non-wash applicationsDifferent wash fastness profile. For garments that cannot be washed.Dry-clean only fabrics, costume/theatrical garments
Pearl Binder 301Cotton, poly blends (light garments)Pearlescent iridescent sheen — adds shimmer to Neo colors⚠️ Maximum 2% pigment load only — much lower than other bases.Fashion prints, pearlescent specialty, pastel shimmer
High-Opacity Rutile BaseCotton, cotton-poly (light to medium)Higher opacity than 301C — more saturated ink filmUse when 301C is too transparent and more color density is needed without extra pigment.Semi-opaque fashion, deeper saturation on light garments
Special Effects BasesCotton, cotton-poly (light garments)Puff, high-density, metallic shimmer, glitter — dimensional effectsNeo pigments colorize specialty bases. Pigment load varies — test first.Dimensional, textured, shimmer, metallic specialty prints

🟢 Green rows = discharge bases (100% cotton + reactive dyes only). All bases require mixing Neo pigment at 10–15% by weight (Pearl Binder 2% max). Always test wash fastness on your specific substrate before production.

Blending Neo Green MB With Other Neo Pigments

Mix Neo Green MB with other Neo Pigments to expand your color range. Use Matsui CMS for exact Pantone® formulas.

+ Neo Yellow M3G

+ Neo Blue MG
→ teal and blue-green range
+ Neo Black MK

💛 Discharge Printing: Neo Green MB is fully compatible with all Matsui discharge bases (Brite, HM, 301DM). On dark 100% cotton with discharge, the pigment embeds directly into the cotton fiber — no blocker layer needed and the softest possible hand feel. Discharge activator required. 100% cotton only.

🛡️ Blocker Selection for Dark Garments (Water-Based mode):
Gray Blocker — dark cotton. Standard starting point.
Black LG Blocker — polyester and poly-blends. Stronger blocking for aggressive dye migration.
Kombat Blocker — sublimation-printed polyester only. Most aggressive. For sublimation dyes that re-activate at cure temperatures.
Always do a 48-hour cure test — if garment dye bleeds through the white underbase after 48 hours, escalate to the next blocker level.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I print Neo Green MB by itself without mixing it into a base?
⚠️ NO. Neo Green MB is a pigment concentrate — it must be mixed with a Matsui base before printing. Without a base, the pigment will not adhere to fabric and will wash off. The base provides the binder, adhesion, and curing chemistry.
Which base should I use?
It depends on your substrate and finish. For light cotton: 301C Clear. For dark cotton (softest hand): Brite Discharge Base + activator. For stretch/activewear: Stretch Clear 301. For nylon/polyester: Soft-Tex Base 350. For lights and darks from one mix: 301DM Base. See the full application guide in the Description tab.
How much pigment do I add to the base?
Up to 10–15% by weight, depending on the base. Most applications use 10%. Pearl Binder 301 has a lower maximum — 2%. Use the free Matsui CMS Color Matching Software for exact Pantone® formula ratios.
Can I use it with discharge bases for dark garments?
Neo Green MB is fully compatible with all Matsui discharge bases including Brite Discharge Base, HM Discharge Base, and 301DM Base. Discharge activator required. Works on 100% cotton only — not poly blends in discharge mode.
Can I blend Neo Green MB with other Neo Pigments?
Yes — blending Neo Pigments is how you create custom Pantone® colors. Use the free Matsui CMS Color Matching Software to calculate exact blend ratios for any Pantone® code. See the blending guide in the Description tab for common color combinations.
Is it safe for children’s garments and major brand RSLs?
Yes. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, CPSIA and HR4040 compliant. Meets all RSLs for major brands. PVC-free, phthalate-free, heavy metal-free, azo-free, and formaldehyde-free.
Where do I find Pantone® color formulas?
Download the free Matsui CMS Color Matching Software from matsui-color.com. Enter any Pantone® code and CMS calculates the exact Neo Pigment ratios by weight or volume for each base.
Can I use it with Dyestone bases?
⚠️ No — Dyestone bases require Dyestone X pigments only. Neo Pigments are compatible with all other Matsui bases.
Do I need Neo Green MB if I can blend blue and yellow?
Yes — while blue + yellow approximates green, many Pantone® greens require Neo Green MB as a primary for accuracy. Matsui CMS formulas for mid-range greens (347 C, 354 C, 362 C) use Neo Green MB as a primary pigment, reducing complexity and improving batch-to-batch consistency.
Can I use Neo Green MB for dark forest green shades?
Yes — add 2–5% Neo Black MK to a Neo Green MB + base mix to shift toward forest, hunter, or dark olive green. For olive tones, also add a trace of Neo Yellow M3G or Neo Gold Yellow MFR. Use Matsui CMS for exact Pantone® dark green formulas.
