You print water-based or discharge inks, run halftone or simulated process work, want softer hand prints with lower squeegee pressure, or are building a shop focused on premium print quality. The 157 White gives you an all-around workhorse. The 230 Yellow handles your halftone and fine-line jobs. Panels are plasma-treated — no degreasing before coating.
🔴 Choose Hi-Tex If…
You print primarily plastisol inks, need maximum mesh durability under high squeegee pressure, run high-opacity underbases, or want the most tear-resistant mesh available. The 156 White handles your solid color production. The 230 Yellow covers tighter halftone plastisol work. Must degrease before coating.

What is the difference between the Hi-Dro and Hi-Tex starter kits?
Hi-Dro is thin-thread, plasma-treated mesh — purpose-built for water-based inks, discharge, halftones, and soft-hand plastisol. Lower squeegee pressure, brighter prints, no degreasing needed. Hi-Tex is standard thick-thread mesh — the plastisol workhorse. Superior tear resistance, holds high tension, ideal for high-opacity underbases and production printing. Must degrease before use.
What mesh counts are included and what are they for?
157 White Hi-Dro — all-around workhorse for water-based printing and general spot colors. 230 Yellow Hi-Dro — halftones, simulated process, fine-line work (yellow absorbs UV scatter for sharper stencil edges). 156 White Hi-Tex — standard plastisol production and underbases. 230 Yellow Hi-Tex — halftone-sensitive plastisol and tighter artwork.
Is the stretching tool included?
Yes — the Nortech ECO Stretching Tool is included in both kits. It is required to properly install and tension panels. Without it you cannot apply even tension to the locking strips.
Do I need to buy anything else to get started?
The kit is complete for day one. Adding the Nortech Tension Meter is highly recommended — especially for multi-color registration on a manual press. Additional panel 6-packs in other mesh counts are available separately.
Do Hi-Dro panels need to be degreased before coating?
No — Hi-Dro panels are plasma-treated and coat immediately after installation. Hi-Tex panels must be degreased before every use. Use a quality screen degreaser before coating Hi-Tex panels with emulsion.
