Description
Screen Remeshing & Restretch Exchange Program — 20″×24″ Aluminum Frame
Why buy new when you can remesh? River City Supply’s professional screen remeshing and restricting service restores your 20″×24″ aluminum frames to like-new performance. Send us your frames — we strip the old mesh, professionally restretch fresh monofilament at optimal tension, and ship production-ready screens back to you. It’s the smartest cost-cutting move a screen printing shop can make, saving up to 40% compared to buying new screens.
IMPORTANT: These Are Recycled, Previously-Used Aluminum Frames
The aluminum frames you receive through this exchange program have been used before. They are recycled frames that we professionally clean and restretch with brand new monofilament mesh. While we do our best to clean each frame, there may be traces of dried ink or emulsion residue on the aluminum that are cosmetic and do not affect print performance.
Why Professional Screen Remeshing Pays Off
Save Up to 40% vs. New
Restretch your existing aluminum frames instead of purchasing new screens. The savings add up fast for high-volume shops running multiple mesh counts.
Sharper Detail & Better Halftones
Fresh mesh restretched to proper tension delivers cleaner stencil edges, crisper halftone dots, and improved emulsion adhesion — details that sagging old mesh simply can’t hold.
Improved Ink Flow
New mesh maximizes open area percentage, reducing squeegee pressure needed and allowing ink to release cleanly — especially important for thick white base prints.
Faster Print Speeds
Better ink flow through properly tensioned mesh translates directly to faster press speeds, reduced screen flooding time, and less risk of ink drying in the screen between passes.
Reduced Moiré Risk
Consistent mesh tension across the frame reduces the moiré interference patterns that can plague worn, unevenly tensioned screens on fine halftone or process color work.
Green Screen Printing Choice
Remeshing is the eco-responsible choice. Reusing aluminum frames instead of replacing them reduces waste and keeps quality materials out of the landfill — the sustainable, green screen approach.
How the Exchange Program Works — Step by Step
Complete your remesh order on screenprintsupplies.com before shipping any frames. This is how we match your frames to your order and know which mesh count you want applied.
Before shipping, frames must be completely bare — remove all mesh, ink, emulsion, and tape from the aluminum frame. We do not remove mesh or ink. Frames arriving with mesh still attached or covered in ink will require additional work and you will be invoiced accordingly. Write your name on the outside of the box, or include a copy of your receipt inside. Reuse the original shipping box to save $2–$3 per box. Ship a minimum of 2 frames (mesh facing inward) to reduce transit damage risk.
Send your frames via UPS, FedEx, or USPS to: River City Supply LLC, 11915 Starcrest Dr, San Antonio, TX 78247-4111. Or drop them off in person.
After placing your order and shipping your blank aluminum frames, email your carrier tracking number to [email protected]. Once we can confirm your shipment is in transit toward San Antonio, we will ship your replacement remeshed frames before your old frames even arrive — cutting your turnaround significantly. Valid UPS, FedEx, or USPS tracking number required.
We ship you 20″×24″ aluminum frames from our ready inventory, professionally remeshed with your chosen mesh count. Please note: you will NOT receive your original frames back. The frames you send in stay with us and become part of our exchange inventory. You will receive different frames of similar physical condition — this is how the exchange program works and what keeps turnaround fast.

You must place your online order before shipping frames. We use your order to identify frames and confirm mesh selection. Frames arriving without a corresponding order may experience delays.
⚠️ Send Bare Aluminum Only — No Exceptions
Frames must arrive completely bare. Remove all mesh, emulsion, ink, and tape before shipping. We do not remove mesh or ink — if your frames arrive with mesh still attached or covered in ink, you will be invoiced for the additional work before your order ships.
⚠️ You Will NOT Get Your Frames Back

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is screen remeshing and how does it differ from buying a new screen?
Screen remeshing (also called screen restricting or restretch) is the process of removing the old mesh from an existing aluminum frame and professionally stretching fresh monofilament polyester mesh in its place. The aluminum frame is reused, saving up to 40% compared to buying a completely new pre-stretched screen. The result is a professionally re-tensioned screen with print performance equal to new.
Do I need to place an order before shipping my frames?
Yes — completing your online order first is required. This is how we identify your frames when they arrive, confirm the mesh count you selected, and match them to your account. Include your name on the outside of the box, or place a copy of your order receipt inside.
Do I need to remove the old mesh before shipping?
Yes — you must remove the mesh before shipping. We do not remove mesh, emulsion, or ink. Frames must arrive completely bare — clean aluminum only. Please remove all mesh, emulsion, ink, and tape before packing your frames. If we receive frames with mesh still attached or covered in ink, you will be invoiced for the additional prep work and that invoice must be paid before your remeshed order ships.
Can I send wood frames for remeshing?
No. This program accepts aluminum frames only. Wood frames have a tendency to warp under mesh tension and during shipping. We currently accept 20″×24″ and 23″×31″ standard aluminum frame sizes only.
Will I get my exact frames back?
No — you will not get your frames back. This is an exchange program. The frames you ship to us stay with us and become part of our exchange inventory. In return, we ship you different frames of similar physical condition from our ready stock, professionally restretched with your chosen mesh count. This is how the program works and what allows us to turn orders around quickly. Please do not send frames you intend to have returned.
How can I get faster turnaround on my order?
After placing your order and shipping your blank aluminum frames, email your carrier tracking number to [email protected]. Once we can see your shipment is actively moving toward San Antonio, TX, we will ship your replacement remeshed screens before your old frames even arrive. Accepted carriers: UPS, FedEx, and USPS.
What’s the single frame shipping warning about?
We strongly recommend shipping a minimum of two frames per shipment, with mesh faces turned inward. This significantly reduces the risk of damage during carrier transit. River City Supply cannot replace frames damaged during shipping on single-frame orders. By shipping one frame, the customer accepts this risk.
Which mesh count should I choose?
For heavy white base on dark shirts, use 86 or 110 white. For standard spot color production, 110 or 122 white. For halftone and simulated process, 155–200 yellow. For fine-detail or discharge, 230 or 305 yellow. Not sure? Call us at (512) 454-0505.
Is remeshing a sustainable / green screen printing practice?
Absolutely. Screen remeshing is one of the most eco-friendly choices a shop can make. By reusing the aluminum frame rather than manufacturing a new screen, you reduce raw material consumption, energy use, and waste. If your shop is committed to sustainable, green screen printing practices, the exchange program is an easy win for both your budget and your environmental footprint.
⚠️ Are the aluminum frames new or used?
The aluminum frames are recycled and have been previously used. This is the whole point of the exchange program — reusing quality aluminum frames saves you up to 40% and keeps material out of the waste stream. The mesh is always brand new and professionally restretched. However, the aluminum itself may have cosmetic traces of dried ink or emulsion residue that does not affect print performance. If you are meticulous about equipment condition or require spotless, pristine frames, we strongly recommend purchasing our new pre-stretched aluminum screens instead.
What is River City Supply’s return policy for remeshed screens?
All return requests must be submitted within 15 calendar days of delivery and require written approval before shipping anything back. Email [email protected]. A 25% restocking fee applies, and original outbound shipping is non-refundable. Items must be unused and in original condition.
What if my remeshed screens arrive damaged?
Photograph all items alongside your packing slip and email documentation to [email protected] within 5 business days of delivery. Do not discard packaging — it may be needed for a carrier claim.
