Technical Specifications
Technical Specifications:
Mesh Count: Recommended for use with mesh counts ranging from 160 to 305, enabling fine image detail and a softer finish.
Activation: Mix 3-6% by weight of D-Powder Discharge Activator into the ink and mix well. Adjust the percentage of activator to achieve desired discharge effects.
Pot Life: Once activated, the ink should be used within 8 hours to maintain optimal performance.
Thinning: If a lower viscosity is required, the ink may be thinned with water, up to a maximum of 10%.
Application Guidelines:
Screen Preparation: Use water-resistant emulsion to prevent stencil breakdown during printing. For long print runs, post-hardening the stencil is recommended.
Printing: Apply heavy squeegee pressure, suitable for the mesh count being used. Print wet-on-wet without flash curing. For extended print runs, occasionally misting the screens with water can help prevent the ink from drying in the screen.
Curing: Cure the printed fabric for a minimum of 90 seconds at 320°F (160°C). For optimal results, curing for 2-3 minutes at 340-350°F (171-177°C) with high-volume forced air is recommended. Ensure the print does not dry before curing, as moisture aids in the discharge process.
Clean-Up: For general wash-up of ink that has not dried, water can be used. For on-press cleaning and screen opening, use appropriate press washes.
Note: Always conduct pre-tests to ensure complete curing, durability, and to verify that the fabric is suitable for discharge printing. Not all fabrics are dyed with dischargeable dyes, and some pigments may not discharge properly.
By incorporating CCI D-Base Discharge Ink into your screen printing projects, you can achieve exceptionally soft-hand prints, enhancing the quality and comfort of your finished products.
