Key Features
STS DTG Ink for Epson is formulated to match the viscosity, surface tension, and colorimetry of Epson UltraChrome DG inks. Drop it in and print — no line flushing, no color profile recalibration required.
Made in Boca Raton, FL and drop shipped directly from STS to your shop. Fresh inventory guaranteed — no warehouse-aged stock.
High-density CMYK pigments deliver vibrant, saturated color across the full spectrum. Accurate color reproduction from screen to garment, with smooth gradients and fine detail.
Dense, opaque white ink provides the underbase needed for vivid color on dark garments. STS DTG white covers consistently without clumping or uneven opacity.
STS DTG inks cure to a durable, wash-resistant finish. With correct pre-treatment and curing, prints maintain vibrancy and adhesion through repeated wash cycles.
Non-toxic, eco-compliant formula. Safer for operators, safer for the environment, and safe for the end consumer wearing the printed garment.

DTG vs. DTF — Which Is Right for You?
DTG and DTF are complementary technologies. Understanding the differences helps you choose the right process for each job — or add the second technology to your shop to capture more revenue.
| Factor | DTG (Direct to Garment) | DTF (Direct to Film) |
|---|---|---|
| Printing Method | Ink printed directly onto garment | Ink printed onto transfer film, then heat-pressed onto garment |
| Pre-Treatment | Required on dark/cotton garments | Not required |
| Best Fabric | 100% cotton or cotton-rich blends | Any fabric — cotton, poly, nylon, blends, and more |
| Color on Dark Garments | Requires white underbase pre-treatment | White layer printed automatically as underbase on film |
| Setup Time | 5–10 min (pretreat + press garment) | <2 min (print to film, powder, press) |
| Hand Feel | Soft — ink bonds directly to fabric | Slight film feel — varies by powder and press settings |
| Wash Durability | Excellent (with correct pre-treatment and cure) | Excellent (with correct press settings) |
| Per-Print Cost | Higher ink use (especially white) | Lower ink use — efficient film coverage |
| Best For | Cotton garments, on-demand single prints | Mixed fabrics, polyester, small runs, no pre-treatment |
Fabric Compatibility & Pre-Treatment Guide
DTG excels on cotton. Pre-treatment is required on dark garments and recommended on light garments for optimal adhesion and wash durability.
| Fabric | DTG Rating | Pre-Treatment | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100% Cotton | Excellent | Yes (dark garments) | Best DTG substrate — ink bonds directly to natural fibers |
| 80/20 Cotton-Poly | Very Good | Yes (dark garments) | Good adhesion; test wash to verify durability |
| 50/50 Poly-Cotton | Good | Yes (dark garments) | Acceptable quality; lower poly content = better results |
| 100% Polyester | Poor | Yes | DTG performs poorly on polyester — consider DTF instead |
| Tri-Blend | Good | Yes (dark garments) | Results vary; test before full production runs |
| Nylon | Not Recommended | — | DTG ink does not adhere well to synthetic fibers |
| 100% Polyester Performance | Not Recommended | — | Use DTF printing for athletic/performance polyester |
DTG Printing Process Overview
Apply pre-treatment to dark or cotton garments. Cure with heat press at 340°F for 35–45 seconds.
Load the pre-treated garment onto the DTG platen. Use a grip pad for faster, hoop-free loading.
Send your design to the printer via RIP software (Garment Creator, Kothari, or your printer’s bundled software).
Cure the printed ink with a heat press (340°F, 60–90 seconds) or conveyor oven to bond the ink to the fabric.
Remove the garment from the heat press. Finished print is wear-ready and wash-durable.

Frequently Asked Questions
STS DTG Ink for Epson is compatible with the Epson SureColor F2000, F2100, and DTG printer platforms. It is a plug-and-print replacement — no line flushing or color profile changes are required. Call (512) 454-0505 if you’re unsure about your specific model.
No. STS DTG Ink for Epson is formulated to closely match the performance characteristics of Epson’s UltraChrome DG inks. You can install it like you would OEM ink — no line purge, no profile swap. This is one of the key advantages of STS over lower-quality generic DTG inks.
Pre-treatment is required on dark-colored garments when printing with white ink. It is also recommended on light-colored cotton garments for improved adhesion and wash durability. STS recommends their own DTG pre-treatment solution. Always pre-treat, heat press to dry, and cool the garment before printing.
DTG performs best on 100% cotton and high-cotton-content blends (80/20 or higher). It performs poorly on 100% polyester — for polyester or mixed synthetic fabrics, DTF printing is a better choice. Nylon and synthetic performance fabrics are not recommended for DTG.
Use a heat press at 340°F (170°C) for 60–90 seconds with medium pressure. Cover the print with a Teflon or silicone sheet to protect the surface. For higher-volume production, a conveyor oven at 320°F for 3.5 minutes is more efficient. Always cure fully to ensure wash durability.
No. STS DTG inks are non-returnable. Confirm your printer model and compatibility before placing your order. Call (512) 454-0505 or email [email protected] if you have any questions before ordering.
All STS DTG inks are manufactured in the United States at STS’s facility in Boca Raton, FL. Orders drop ship directly from STS to ensure freshness — no warehouse-aged inventory.
DTG (Direct to Garment) prints ink directly onto the garment — it works best on 100% cotton, requires pre-treatment on dark fabrics, and produces a soft hand feel. DTF (Direct to Film) prints onto transfer film, applies powder, cures it, and heat-presses the transfer to any fabric — no pre-treatment required. Many shops run both technologies to cover all fabric types and order sizes.
