FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Frequently asked questions
What is TW 11009 Green Shade Blue?
TW 11009 Green Shade Blue is a cool blue that leans toward green. In a formula it builds turquoise, teal and bright cyan-type blues. It is part of the TW 11000 Series Solvent-Based Screen Printing Ink. The TW Graphics 11000 Series is a one-component, gloss, chemical-resistant solvent-based screen printing ink. It prints on treated polyethylene and polypropylene, PVC, Tyvek, nylon fabric, leather, coated wood and coated metal. It air dries in 10-20 minutes or force dries in seconds, and suits banner, flag, metal sign and point-of-purchase printers.
Why use single-pigment colors for matching?
Each one has a single pigment, so mixes stay clean and repeatable.
Are there concentrates for the 11000 Series?
Yes. SB-01 to SB-11 concentrates match these colors. They are not press-ready and must be mixed into 11030 Mixing Clear or white at 30% or less by weight.
What substrates does 11000 Series ink print on?
Treated polyethylene and polypropylene, PVC, Tyvek, nylon fabric, leather, coated wood, coated metal and plastic sheeting. Always test your specific material first.
How fast does it dry?
10 to 20 minutes air dry at room temperature, or a few seconds in a forced-air dryer at 90-150°F.
What mesh count should I use?
110 to 305 monofilament polyester; use the finer end for halftones and fine detail.
How do I thin it?
Add 1073 Thinner up to 5-10% by weight. Over-reducing can cause blocking and slower drying.
When should I use 1091 Retarder?
For fine detail, slow print cycles or high shop temperatures, at up to 5-10% by weight.
How do I improve adhesion on polyethylene or polypropylene?
Make sure the surface measures 38 dyne/cm or higher, and add 2919 Adhesion Promoter/Catalyst at 2-5% by weight. Mixed ink must be used within 4-6 hours.
Is it rated for outdoor use?
Yes, up to 2 years exterior life on most substrates; Reflex Blue and Ultra Blue are rated up to 1 year. Expect slight color and gloss change.
Can I clean up with mineral spirits or lacquer thinner?
No. Use a press wash and reclaimer made for solvent-based inks.
Can I print four-color process with it?
Yes. 11040-11043 are Advanced Color Gamut halftone yellow, magenta, cyan and black, with 11044 Halftone Extender Base.
