Description

Chroma/Strip iSC — Ready-to-Use Oxidizer Emulsion Remover for All Stencil Types

Most emulsion removers require measuring and mixing. Chroma/Strip iSC doesn’t. It’s a fully formulated, ready-to-use stencil remover that goes straight from the bottle to the screen. The oxidizer formula breaks down direct emulsions, capillary films, and direct/indirect stencils while cleaning agents simultaneously work on residual ink stains — so screens come out of reclaim cleaner and more ready for recoating. Biodegradable, low odor, and part of Chromaline’s complete iSC system. One critical rule: never let it dry on the screen. Apply, scrub, rinse immediately.

Ready-to-Use — No Mixing Required

Open the bottle and apply directly to the screen. No dilution, no measuring, no settling. Chroma/Strip iSC is formulated as a ready-to-use solution, which simplifies the reclaim workflow and eliminates the prep steps required with concentrate-based removers.

Oxidizer Formula for Faster Breakdown

The oxidizer in Chroma/Strip iSC chemically accelerates emulsion breakdown rather than relying solely on physical scrubbing. This means faster penetration into the stencil and cleaner removal — particularly on thicker emulsion coatings.

Removes Residual Ink Stains

Beyond emulsion removal, the specialty cleaning agents in Chroma/Strip iSC help reduce ink stains and ghost images left in the mesh after reclaiming. The result is a cleaner mesh that’s ready for degreasing, coating, and production sooner.

All Stencil Types

Works on direct emulsions (photopolymer and diazo), capillary films, and direct/indirect stencils. One product covers every stencil system used in professional screen printing.

Biodegradable & Low Odor

The formula is biodegradable and low odor — better for the environment and for press room air quality. A safer, more comfortable reclaim environment for operators handling it daily.

Critical: Do Not Let It Dry on Screen

This is the most important application note for Chroma/Strip iSC. If the product dries on the screen before rinsing, it makes reclaim significantly more difficult. Always apply, scrub both sides, and immediately rinse with high-pressure water. Work one screen at a time if necessary to maintain this workflow.

iSC System Compatibility

Chroma/Strip iSC is formulated to work with the full Chromaline iSC chemical line. Using matched iSC chemistry across press wash, screen wash, emulsion remover, and degreaser reduces compatibility risk and delivers more predictable results at every reclaim step.

DDU Program for High-Volume Shops

For shops purchasing in drum quantities, Chromaline’s Drum Dispensing Unit (DDU) program provides a complimentary wall-mounted system with up to three pumps and spray guns. Compatible with Chroma/Strip iSC. Contact River City Supply for details.

⚠️ Critical Application Note — Do Not Let Dry on Screen

Never allow Chroma/Strip iSC to dry on a screen before rinsing. If the product dries in the mesh, it bonds with the emulsion and makes reclaim extremely difficult — sometimes requiring repeat applications and extended scrubbing. Always apply, scrub, and rinse with high-pressure water in the same workflow. Process one screen at a time if your washout setup requires it.

How to Use Chroma/Strip iSC

Step 1 — Remove All Ink First

Before applying Chroma/Strip iSC, all ink must be removed from the screen. Use your press wash (Chroma/Press Wash iSC) and/or screen wash (Chroma/Screen Wash iSC) to fully clean the mesh. Applying emulsion remover over ink will degrade performance.

Step 2 — Apply to Both Sides

Apply Chroma/Strip iSC directly to both sides of the entire screen using a soft polyester scrub brush. Do not use hard bristle brushes. Ensure complete coverage of the emulsion area on both the print and squeegee sides.

Step 3 — Scrub the Mesh

Work the solution into the mesh with the soft polyester brush. The oxidizer begins breaking down the emulsion on contact. Scrub both sides thoroughly.

Step 4 — Wait Briefly (Do Not Let Dry)

Allow a brief dwell time for the oxidizer to penetrate the emulsion. CRITICAL: Do not allow Chroma/Strip iSC to dry on the screen. If it dries, reclaim becomes extremely difficult. Keep the screen wet and proceed to rinsing promptly.

Step 5 — High-Pressure Water Rinse

Remove all emulsion residue with a high-pressure washer. Rinse from the squeegee side first, then the print side. Ensure all emulsion and product residue is fully removed.

Step 6 — Inspect & Degrease

Inspect the reclaimed screen for any remaining emulsion or ghost images. If ghost images remain, reapply and re-rinse. Follow up with Chroma-Wet iSC Degreaser before re-coating to ensure clean mesh adhesion.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does Chroma/Strip iSC need to be mixed with water?

No. It is a ready-to-use formula — apply directly from the bottle to the screen with no dilution or mixing required. This is one of its key advantages over concentrate-based emulsion removers.

Why does it say not to let it dry on the screen?

Chroma/Strip iSC contains an oxidizer that accelerates emulsion breakdown, but if it dries before rinsing, it can bond with the emulsion residue and make the screen very difficult to clean. Always complete the full workflow in sequence: apply → scrub both sides → rinse immediately with high-pressure water. Process one screen at a time if needed.

What emulsion types does it work on?

Chroma/Strip iSC works on direct emulsions (both photopolymer and diazo), capillary films, and direct/indirect stencil systems. It covers all major stencil types used in professional screen printing.

Does it help with ghost images?

Yes. The formula contains specialty cleaning agents in addition to the oxidizer that help reduce residual ink stains and ghost images left in the mesh after standard emulsion removal. Screens come out of reclaim cleaner and are ready for degreasing and recoating sooner.

What brush should I use?

Use a soft polyester scrub brush. Do not use hard bristle brushes, which can damage the mesh. Apply to both sides of the screen and work the solution into the mesh thoroughly before rinsing.

Is it compatible with all Chromaline emulsions?

Yes — Chroma/Strip iSC is part of Chromaline’s Integrated Screen Chemistry (iSC) system, which is specifically formulated for compatibility with Chromaline emulsions and the rest of the iSC product line. Using iSC chemistry throughout the workflow — press wash, screen wash, emulsion remover, degreaser — reduces compatibility risk and delivers more consistent results.

What sizes does River City Supply stock?

We stock Chroma/Strip iSC in quart, gallon, and 5-gallon pail. Drum quantities are also available — drum purchases qualify for Chromaline’s DDU program (free wall-mounted pump dispensing unit). Same-day shipping on in-stock orders placed before 3:30 PM CT from San Antonio, TX.
