Description

Franmar Color Change™ On-Press Ink Remover

Most shops switched to Color Change and never looked back. It does everything Methylene Chloride does — fast color changes, screen opening, ink cleanup — without the toxic chemistry, offensive odor, or aerosol can. Spray or pour a small amount on the screen, wipe with a shop towel, and the screen is clean. Works on plastisol and all-purpose inks. Soy-based and 100% biodegradable.

Replaces Methylene Chloride

Franmar developed Color Change specifically to eliminate the need for Methylene Chloride and other toxic on-press cleaners. Same speed, same results, without the hazards.

No Water Rinse

Apply, wipe, done. No washout booth trip required. Perfect for on-press use where you need to stay at the press and keep production moving.

Opens Clogged Mesh

Use Color Change during a run to reopen areas of mesh that have started to clog without pulling the screen off press.

Non-Aerosol

Liquid formula in a spray bottle — not a pressurized aerosol can. Lower waste, safer storage, more controlled application.

Low Odor

Dramatically less odor than mineral spirits and Methylene Chloride alternatives. Safer and more comfortable for daily production use.

100% Biodegradable

Made from American-grown soybeans. Fully biodegradable and drain-safe.

How to Use Franmar Color Change

Step 1 — Scrape Excess Ink

Remove excess ink from the screen with a spatula before applying Color Change.

Step 2 — Apply

Spray or pour a small amount of Color Change onto the ink side of the screen. Less is more.

Step 3 — Wipe Clean

Wipe screen clean with shop towels. Repeat on back of screen image area.

Step 4 — Degrease

Wipe both sides with Franmar D•Grease or a damp shop towel to remove any solvent residue before re-taping.

Step 5 — Dry & Print

Allow screen to dry thoroughly. If tape isn’t sticking, wipe again with a damp towel and allow to dry fully before retaping.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does Color Change work without a water rinse?

Yes — that’s the point. Color Change is a wipe-on, wipe-off on-press cleaner. No washout booth, no water. Wipe with shop towels, then degrease with D•Grease or a damp towel.

What did Color Change replace?

Methylene Chloride, mineral spirits, and other harsh on-press cleaners. Franmar formulated Color Change to deliver the same fast ink removal without the toxic chemistry or offensive odor.

Can I use Color Change to open clogged screens during a run?

Yes. Spray a small amount onto a shop towel and wipe the clogged image area. This is one of Color Change’s best uses in a production environment.

Does Color Change remove water-based inks?

No. Color Change is formulated for plastisol and all-purpose inks. For water-based inks, use Franmar Aqua-Wash.

Is Color Change safe for daily use?

Yes. It’s non-caustic, low-odor, and biodegradable. Wear gloves and eye protection as with any chemical, but it’s significantly safer than the products it replaces.
