Description
Vastex Pallet Rubber Top — Replacement Non-Slip Rubber for Screen Printing Pallets
Genuine Vastex blemish-free soft-top pallet rubber, pre-cut to 15 common pallet sizes. The same non-slip rubber used on Vastex factory pallets and on the world’s top automatic presses. Drop-ships direct from Vastex’s manufacturing facility in Bethlehem, PA.
Pallet rubber does more for your print quality than its price tag suggests. A fresh soft-top surface gives you a slightly forgiving platen that improves ink lay-down, holds heat consistently across flash cycles, and helps ink penetrate garment fibers for richer, more durable prints. When your existing rubber gets glazed, cracked, or worn flat from flash heat and years of spray adhesive, print quality drops — usually before you notice it on the press and after you have already lost a few jobs. Replacing it is cheap insurance against that. Ordering one of these 15 pre-cut sizes means no measuring, no roll-to-pallet fitting, and no waste.
Why Soft-Top Rubber Is the Industry Standard
Image Density Improvement
Soft-top rubber gives ink a slight cushion to compress into, resulting in better coverage and denser-looking prints on the first stroke. Especially noticeable on dark garments where ink opacity matters.
Flash Cure Throughput
The rubber surface holds heat evenly across the platen and helps flash cycles run faster. On multi-color jobs with flash between every color, this adds up to real time savings over a production shift.
Substrate Penetration
Soft-top helps ink push into garment fibers rather than sitting on top. Prints are more durable, hand feels softer, and you get cleaner results on fleece, pique knits, and textured fabrics.
Highest Heat Resistance
Specially manufactured for the exact conditions of a screen printing pallet — repeated flash heat, spray adhesive, ink wipes, solvent cleaning. Vastex’s blemish-free formulation holds up through thousands of impressions.
Non-Slip Top Surface
Grips garments mechanically, which helps with registration and reduces how much spray adhesive you need to use between prints. Cleaner press environment, faster job changeovers.
Industry Standard Material
Same rubber specification used on Vastex factory pallets and on most of the world’s top automatic presses. Proven in production shops from 1-press operations to large automatic lines.
Available Pre-Cut Sizes
All 15 sizes are stocked from Vastex’s Bethlehem, PA facility. Choose the size that matches your pallet dimensions from the dropdown at the top of the product page. If you need a size not listed here — or you are recovering a full press set and want custom lengths — order our rolled pallet rubber sold by the linear foot from a 48″ wide roll instead.

What You Get
One Pre-Cut Rubber Sheet in Your Selected Size
A single sheet of genuine Vastex blemish-free soft-top pallet rubber cut to the exact dimensions you choose from the dropdown. No measuring, no trimming, no roll-to-pallet fitting.
Factory-Spec Non-Slip Surface
The same soft-top grip-surface used on Vastex factory pallets and on top automatic presses. Consistent thickness and finish across every pre-cut size.
Ready for Install with Hi-Temp Adhesive
Rubber is clean and ready to bond. Pair with Vastex Rubber Mat Adhesive (sold separately) for a permanent heat-resistant bond to your pallet surface — approximately 1 qt of adhesive covers 3 ft of rubber, so most single pre-cut sheets take well under a pint.
Drop-Ships from Vastex (Bethlehem, PA)
This product drop-ships directly from Vastex’s manufacturing facility in Bethlehem, PA. That means you are getting the same freshly-manufactured rubber as buying factory-direct — and we handle the order, tracking, and support on your behalf.
When to Replace Your Pallet Rubber
Glazed or Shiny Surface
Years of flash heat and adhesive buildup can glaze the rubber surface. A shiny pallet gives less tack, less image density, and worse ink penetration. If you can see your reflection in the rubber, it is time.
Cracking or Lifting Edges
Visible cracks — especially near the edges — mean the rubber has lost its heat resistance. It will only get worse. Replace before you have an ink disaster mid-run.
Flat or Hardened Feel
Push your thumb into the rubber — it should have a slight give. If it feels rock-hard, the rubber has degraded and you are losing the image density benefit entirely.
Ink Stains That Will Not Clean
Surface stains are cosmetic. But deeply absorbed ink that will not scrub off suggests the rubber is compromised. Replace before contamination affects future runs.
Pre-Cut vs. Rolled vs. Peel-and-Stick — Which Should You Order?
| Feature | Pre-Cut Sizes (This Product) | Rolled (Sold by Foot) | Peel & Stick |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sizing | 15 fixed sizes, 10.5×17 to 27×32 | Any length from 48″ wide roll | Fixed 17″x24″ sheets |
| Best For | Standard pallet sizes, 1-3 pallets at a time | Custom sizes, full shop recover, bulk orders | Fast recover on standard pallets |
| Adhesive Required | Yes — sold separately | Yes — sold separately | No — pre-applied |
| Install Time | Medium — apply adhesive, position, cure | Medium — measure, cut, apply adhesive, cure | Fastest — peel, stick, roll |
| Waste | Zero — exact fit | Minimal — cut to order | Some — fixed 17×24 dimensions |
| Custom Sizes | No — fixed 15 sizes | Yes — any length | No — fixed size |
| Material | Blemish-free soft-top | Blemish-free soft-top | Blemish-free soft-top |
| Best Price per Pallet | Best for 1-3 pallets in standard sizes | Best for 4+ pallets or custom sizes | Middle — pays for time savings |
All three are genuine Vastex soft-top rubber — same material, different format. Pre-cut is the right choice when your pallet size matches one of the 15 standard sizes. Order rolled rubber for custom or oversized pallets. Order peel-and-stick when install speed matters most.
Installation — Step by Step
Step 1: Remove Old Rubber
Peel or scrape the old rubber off the pallet. Remove all old adhesive with a putty knife, scraper, or adhesive remover. Clean the pallet surface with denatured alcohol or acetone — surface must be free of grease, ink, and dust for the new adhesive to bond.
Step 2: Test-Fit the New Rubber
Lay the pre-cut rubber on the pallet to confirm fit. Because this is a factory pre-cut sheet, most pallets will fit with the listed size plus small trim allowance. A very slight overhang is normal — trim flush after bonding.
Step 3: Apply Vastex Rubber Mat Adhesive
Brush or roll an even layer of Vastex Rubber Mat Adhesive on the pallet surface. Most single pre-cut sheets need about a half-pint of adhesive. Follow the adhesive’s flash-off time — most contact adhesives need a few minutes of tack time before mating the rubber.
Step 4: Press the Rubber Down
Place the rubber on the pallet starting from one edge, smoothing as you go to push out air bubbles. Press firmly across the entire surface — a small J-roller or rubber mallet helps. Bubbles left underneath will show up later as soft spots in your prints.
Step 5: Trim & Cure
Trim any slight overhang flush to the pallet edge with a fresh utility knife. Let the adhesive cure fully before returning the pallet to production — typically 4-24 hours depending on the adhesive. Do not rush this or you will lift edges during printing.
Skip Adhesive with Peel & Stick
If you want to skip the adhesive step entirely, check out Peel & Stick Soft-Top Rubber — same material, pre-applied adhesive backing, 80% faster install, no caustic chemicals. Standard 17″x24″ sheet size only.
⚠ Drop-Ships from Bethlehem, PA
This product ships directly from Vastex’s manufacturing facility in Bethlehem, PA — not from our San Antonio warehouse. Delivery times vary based on Vastex’s current production queue and your location. For an accurate delivery estimate on your specific size, chat, email, or call us.
⚠ Hi-Temp Adhesive Required
This rubber must be bonded with Hi-Temp adhesive to survive flash cure temperatures. We recommend Vastex Rubber Mat Adhesive. Standard hardware-store contact cement will lift during flash — do not cut this corner.
⚠ Confirm Your Pallet Dimensions
Measure your pallet before ordering. Pre-cut sizes are exact and final — rubber cannot be exchanged for a different size once shipped. If you are between two sizes, order the next size up and trim to fit, or order rolled rubber from the by-the-foot page for an exact custom cut.
⚠ Allow Adequate Cure Time
After applying rubber with adhesive, let the pallet cure a full 4-24 hours before returning it to production. Rushing cure time causes edge lifting during the first few print runs — and once it starts lifting, you have to strip and redo it.
Pair Your Rubber with Vastex Adhesive & Pallets
Most customers buying pallet rubber also order adhesive. Here are the products that pair with this one.
Essential Adhesive

Rubber + Adhesive Coverage Reference
| Rubber Size | Typical Adhesive Needed | Adhesive Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 10.5″ x 17″ — 14″ x 14″ | Well under 1 pint | Half a pint usually sufficient |
| 15″ x 17″ — 16″ x 24″ | About 1 pint | Order 1 pint of Vastex Rubber Mat Adhesive |
| 17″ x 21″ — 20″ x 24″ | 1-2 pints | Order 1 quart for comfort margin |
| 20″ x 30″ — 27″ x 32″ | 2-3 pints | Order 1 quart; larger sheets may need more |
General rule of thumb: 1 quart of Vastex Rubber Mat Adhesive covers approximately 3 linear feet of rubber. For single pre-cut sheets, a single pint is usually plenty. Always better to have leftover adhesive than to run out mid-install.
What Makes Soft-Top Rubber Different
Compressibility
Soft-top rubber compresses slightly under squeegee pressure, which helps ink lay down more evenly and penetrate into garment fibers. Hard pallet surfaces resist compression and produce thinner, less opaque prints.
Heat Distribution
Rubber holds heat evenly across the platen surface during flash cure cycles, producing more consistent cure temperatures across the print. This reduces over-cured edges and under-cured centers that cause ink cracking.
Tack Surface for Spray Adhesive
Rubber gives spray adhesive something to bond to at the molecular level. Bare steel or wood pallets require more adhesive to hold garments, and the tack degrades faster between flashes.
Longevity Under Production
A properly installed rubber top lasts 6-24 months in a production shop depending on volume and flash temperature. Much longer than spray adhesive residue builds up on the base pallet.
