Franmar Wash•Away™ Solvent Ink Remover
Shops running solvent-based inks have historically relied on mineral spirits, acetone, or other volatile flammable solvents to clean screens. Wash•Away is Franmar’s answer — a soy-based, non-flammable replacement that cleans solvent inks just as effectively without the fire hazard, the ventilation requirements, or the aggressive chemical exposure. Biodegradable and drain-safe.

Unlike mineral spirits and acetone, Wash•Away is non-flammable. Safer storage, safer handling, and simpler compliance in regulated environments.
Replaces Mineral Spirits
Purpose-built as a mineral spirits replacement for solvent ink shops. Handles solvent-based inks that other Franmar products are not designed for.

How to Use Franmar Solvent Ink Remover
Step 1 — Apply
Spray or pour Wash•Away onto the ink side of the screen.
Step 2 — Scrub
Scrub with a Biggee™ pad or nylon brush to break down solvent ink deposits.
Step 3 — Repeat on Back
Apply to and scrub the substrate side of the screen.
Step 4 — Rinse
Rinse both sides thoroughly with high-pressure water. Note: Do not let Wash•Away sit on the adhesive holding mesh to frames.

Does Wash-Away work on plastisol inks?
It is formulated for solvent-based inks. For plastisol, use Bean-e-doo or Color Change. For mixed-ink shops, Greeneway handles multiple types including solvent.
Is it flammable?
No. Non-flammable formula — a key safety advantage over mineral spirits and acetone alternatives.
Does it contain any restricted substances?
Wash•Away contains n-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, which carries a Prop 65 warning in California. Review the SDS before use. Wear appropriate PPE.
Does it need a water rinse?
Yes. After scrubbing, rinse both sides of the screen with high-pressure water.
Why shouldn’t it touch the mesh adhesive?
Franmar notes that Wash•Away can affect the adhesive that bonds mesh to frames. Apply only to the mesh area and avoid soaking the frame bonding areas.
