Description

Vastex E-20 — Affordable, Precise LED Screen Exposure

Getting into screen printing — or want a reliable second exposure unit? The E-20 gives you sharp, repeatable screen exposure from long-life LEDs at a fraction of the running cost and heat of metal halide. A pressure plate keeps your film, glass and screen in tight contact for crisp stencils, and the analog timer with auto shut-off makes every burn consistent.

Why Printers Choose It

LED Speed, Metal-Halide Quality

Exposes as fast as metal halide with fine detail and halftones to 85 lpi — but runs cooler and draws about 20% of the power.

Pressure-Plate Contact

A pressure plate presses film, positive and screen tight together against the glass for sharp, uniform edges. The glass top is not included — supply a 21″×25″ piece of tempered glass from any local glass shop.

Repeatable Analog Timer

Set it once and the auto shut-off gives you the same exposure on every screen.

Long-Life, Low-Cost LEDs

50,000+ hour LED bars mean years of use with virtually no bulb costs.

The Vastex LED line steps up in a clear ladder: the E-20 is the entry pressure-plate light box; the E-200 21×28 adds true vacuum draw-down for sharper stencils; the E-200 23×31 keeps that vacuum with bigger 30″ bars for larger screens; the E-2000 25×36 brings a touchscreen with presets and a fast ring-blower vacuum for production; and the E-2000 52×36 doubles the light bars to expose two 25×36 screens at once. Glass not included — supply your own

The E-20 ships without the glass top. Pick up a 21″ × 25″ piece of tempered glass (about ⅛″ / 3 mm is typical) from any local glass shop — it’s inexpensive and avoids shipping breakage. The glass sits under the pressure plate to sandwich your film, positive and screen.

Choose your voltage

Available in 120V or 240V, and it can mount on a Vastex drying cabinet to save space.

Moving up in volume?

Need vacuum draw-down and bigger screens? Step up to the E-200 vacuum series — see the comparison chart below.

Your exposure time is unique to your shop

There’s no single “correct” exposure time — it depends on your emulsion type and coating thickness, mesh count, the distance from the LEDs to the screen, your film density, and even humidity. Dial in yours with our exposure calculator and its built-in step test to find your exact time, then keep our emulsion troubleshooting guide handy to fix any exposure or stencil issues.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Vastex E-20 LED Exposure Unit — Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Vastex E-20?
It’s an entry-level LED exposure light box that burns screens for screen printing using two long-life LED bars — pro-quality stencils without the cost, heat or power draw of metal halide.
Who is it best for?
New shops, home printers, schools, or busy shops that want an affordable second exposure unit for screens up to 20″×24″.
Does it have a vacuum?
No — the E-20 uses a pressure plate to hold film and screen in tight contact. For true vacuum draw-down, step up to the E-200 series.
Is the glass included?
No — the E-20 ships without the glass top. You supply a 21″ × 25″ piece of tempered glass (about ⅛″ / 3 mm is typical), available cheaply from any local glass shop. It sits under the pressure plate to hold your film, positive and screen in tight contact — buying it locally avoids the cost and breakage risk of shipping a large glass panel.
What emulsions can it expose?
Any emulsion type, and it’s resistant to plastisol, water-based and solvent inks.
How does it compare to the E-200 and E-2000?
The E-200 adds a vacuum lid and bigger screens; the E-2000 adds a ring-blower vacuum and an LCD touchscreen with presets. See the comparison chart.
How do I find the right exposure time for my screens?
Every shop is different — exposure time depends on your emulsion and coating thickness, mesh count, the distance from the LEDs to the screen, film density and even humidity. Run a step test with our exposure calculator to nail your exact time, and keep our emulsion troubleshooting guide handy to dial it in and fix any issues.
